Land of the Lost

The shimmering heat of the desert distorts the air as rick-marshall/" target="_blank">Dr. Rick Marshall, a disgraced paleontologist clinging to his wild theories, prepares his latest, and possibly last, expedition. Fueled by crackpot science and the promise of harnessing tachyons, Rick, along with the skeptical but intrigued research assistant Holly, and the hilariously ill-prepared survivalist Will Stanton, activate Rick’s self-proclaimed “Tachyon Amplifier”. A swirling vortex of light consumes their rickety vehicle, hurtling them through time and space. They crash land in a prehistoric jungle, a Land of the Lost where dinosaurs roam and strange, reptilian humanoids known as Sleestaks lurk in the shadows. Their only hope for survival in this bizarre world might rest with an unlikely ally, a primate-like creature named Chaka, who seems strangely familiar and perhaps, just perhaps, understands more than he lets on.

Storyline

Dr. Rick Marshall, a disgraced paleontologist clinging to the fringes of scientific respectability, believes he can unlock time travel using tachyon amplification. He coerces the skeptical but ambitious research assistant Holly into joining him for a perilous expedition to a remote cave system. They hire Will Stanton, a rugged, less-than-bright survivalist, to guide them through the treacherous terrain. During a test of Marshall’s device, an earthquake triggers the machine, violently sucking the trio into a swirling vortex. They are deposited into a bizarre, prehistoric world inhabited by dinosaurs, bizarre creatures, and the primitive ape-like Pakuni. Soon after arrival they befriend Chaka, a Pakuni who is intelligent and helps them navigate the dangers of the new world. The group discovers an ancient city inhabited by the reptilian Sleestaks, who are technologically advanced but also aggressively territorial. As they try to repair Marshall’s device, the group find themselves in conflict with the Sleestaks, as well as a powerful, telepathic Zarn, who seeks to control all dimensions. Marshall, Holly, Will and Chaka must work together, using their combined skills and wit, to survive the hostile environment, evade the Sleestaks, and stop the Zarn from invading their world, all while trying to find a way back home before they become permanent residents of the Land of the Lost.
